Prickly Pair

One of Chris’s earlier acrylic paintings, Prickly Pear captures a period of experimentation and growth as he began exploring painting outside of his tattoo work. Inspired by the cacti featured throughout his own wedding, the piece combines colour realism with abstract elements, creating a contrast between the organic forms of the cactus and the floating white rings that move throughout the composition.

While different from the black and grey realism Chris is best known for, Prickly Pear still carries the sense of unease and atmosphere that has become a recurring theme throughout his out-of-tattooing artwork.
